Halloween Activities

Lots of fun things have been happening lately to get us ready for the big night on Friday night. Here are a few things that we have done.

Izzy wore this cute outfit quite a bit this month for the Halloween season. Doesn't she look adorable?
Yesterday Caleb had a cute little pre-school program for Halloween. They sang songs and dressed up in their spooky costumes. Caleb had been working hard on his songs and he couldn't wait to sing them for us. Little Izzy wanted to go up and sing the songs too. She just wanted to be by her brother. This cute costume was given to Caleb for his birthday last year so he was pretty excited to be able to wear it!

On Tuesday we had our 10th annual Halloween party at my mom and dad's house. This is such a fun family tradition! Good food, yummy treats, pumpkin carving, and fun surprises for each of the kids from grandma.

Grandma bought each of the kids a flashlight for a fun scavenger hunt in the dark. My cute little Care Bear tried to keep up but she needed grandpa's help.

Here are all of the kids reading the next clue. My kids loved having their own flashlight!

Unfortunately I didn't get more pictures of the fun party cause my camera died. Thanks so much mom for making these family parties so much fun for all of us. She is such a fun grandma!

Wow! Am I Really That Old?

Well, as you know my BIG 30th birthday was last Saturday. I can't believe that I am actually 30 years old. For quite a few months I have been struggling with the fact that once I turn 30, I am officially OLD! I know it's not really that old but my fun and exciting 20's are over. So far since I have been 30 a couple things have happened. Good and bad. I'll start with the good. I finally got my crappy driveway fixed by Richmond. Any of you who have been watching KSL about peoples driveways know what I am talking about. However, I do feel like mine was way worse then anyone elses in the valley! Here are some before and after pictures. These before pictures were a long time ago so imagine my entire driveway looking like that!!!!

Before

After

Anyway, that was probably the best birthday present anyone could've ever given me. Thanks Richmond! The night before my birthday B brought home a cute cake and ice cream for me. He knew the kids would love it. Caleb had been asking when my birthday party was going to start. It was cute. They were excited about the cake.

What is it about cake that makes kids so excited?

My cute visiting teachers are the best! They bought me a edible arrangement. I have always thought that those are the cutest ideas for a gift. I didn't want to eat it cause it was too cute! Thanks so much Tiff and Sarah!!!

My sweet mom took me shopping at my favorite place Tai Pan and arranged this cute arrangement for my front room. It's just what I wanted. She is awesome at decorating. We also have a tradition with in our family that we take the birthday girl out to breakfast. We went to Mimi's and had a fun time together. I love my sisters! Thanks mom, Kim, Jodi, Heidi, and Tiff!

My cute neighbor Kim made me this yummy little peanut butter cake. Isn't it cute? You're the best Kim!

My other friends Summer and Errin took me to get a pedicure for my birthday. I love spending time with them. Thanks for the great conversation and pretty toes. It was much needed!

Finally, B took me out to Rodizio Grill and to a movie. I love spending time with him. He is so wonderful. Our 10 year anniversary is next week and he will be out of town so, to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary we are spending the night in Park City with out my kids tonight. He's the best!

Here is the bad news about turning 30. I have been having neck problems and I've been going to a chiropractor. He couldn't help so, after going to an orthopedic specialist and having an MRI, he told me that I have a bulging disc, arthritis, bone spurs, and a few pinched nerves in my neck. I guess I couldn't expect my 30's to start off smooth. Hopefully physical therapy will help. Cross your fingers for me.

Other than that crappy news my birthday was awesome. Hopefully my next 10 years will be as fun and exciting!

Firefighter Caleb!

Last week I went with Caleb on a field trip to the fire station. He thought it was the coolest thing! There was a little program and he walked around and saw the fire trucks. One even left for a fire while we were there. He loved listening to sirens as they drove away. I just love how he enjoys school! He has made so many friends there. It seems like every day his teacher tells me that he wants to play with a different kid in the class and to track down the mom to set up a play date. That's my little "social butterfly." Here are some fun pictures of the field trip.

Caleb was able to participate in the fire safety skit and play the part of the "smoke"

His eyes lit up when he saw this cool bell. The fire fighters even let him ring it a few times.

Caleb's little buddies Nathan and Ace

He was so excited to tell dad about the fun day he had at the fire station!

Fall Leaves at Sundance

I love this time of year for many reasons. First, the cooler weather when I can when my comfy sweatshirts. Second, it's my 30th birthday in a couple of days. Third, my 10 year anniversary is on the 23rd. Fourth, fun Halloween costumes and treats. Finally, the changing of the fall leaves. I love their bright colors that change right before conference. On Friday we went on a fun drive up to Sundance to walk around and look at the beautiful leaves! WOW it was amazing! When we got there we saw the chair-lift moving and carrying people all the way up to the top of the lift. We bought tickets and rode the lift to look at the leaves way up on the mountains. This was so cool! If any of you haven't done this, you have got to do it! Just make sure you bring a sweatshirt! My kids loved it! We continued on through the Alpine Loop and ended up back at our house. We have never driven that drive. It was amazing. A must see! We also took some fun pictures while we were up there. We hadn't planned on doing this so we weren't quite dressed up the way I would've liked to have been but, they are still cute. Enjoy!
