A Week At Lake Powell

I just got back from Lake Powell last night so sorry for not blogging. Caleb and I went down with my family for a week and had a great time. B stayed back home with Izzy because she would be too much work on a houseboat of 17 people. Here is how the week went for us. Beware, there are A LOT of pictures!

We rode down early with my mom and dad on the 24th of July and stayed in Cedar City. The rest of my family met up with us the next day. Fortunately, there were activities going on in the park. Caleb had a lot of fun on the bounce houses. He can never get enough of those! Later, me my mom, and Caleb went to see Wall-E. He loved that movie! He didn't say a word throughout the entire show! The popcorn did keep him occupied. We were excited to get on our way to Lake Powell.

We love spending time together as a family and there is no better place to be together than Lake Powell! This is a trip that we all look forward to all year long!

*Waiting at the dock to load up can be quite tiring and hot. Thank goodness for this big umbrella grandma brought!

*My favorite part of the trip is when we take long boat rides.

*Caleb and his little cousin John had fun playing together. They are the same age and never get to see each other because he lives in California so this trip was extra special for the kids!

*We made friends with our fellow boaters next to us and enjoyed and evening with them making smores and good conversation.

*I don't know what it is about flags but Caleb was so excited when it was his turn to hold the flag for the knee boarders. He didn't want to try knee-boarding himself. Maybe next year.

*Grandpa let Caleb drive the houseboat. He thought that was fun! I love this picture!

*Caleb and I were so proud to say that we caught the most fish. We caught 4!!! We would've caught more but I didn't want to be the one to take the fish off of the hook!

*On my parents houseboat we had 17 people packed in. There were 9 adults and 8 kids. My sister Kim and her family didn't join us this year. We missed their fun sense of humor. Maybe next year.

*Once this shower head was discovered, you couldn't keep Caleb away from it. He though it was fun to spray everyone in the water.

*While on a boat ride one day, there was a rain storm. Here we are under this umbrella laughing about how silly we must look!

*The kids thought the storm was fun. Here they all are, all 8 of them, piled underneath the front bow boat cover to stay dry. I had to take a picture of them in there laughing.

*Here we are running for cover in the marina bathroom to get out of the rain. I bet we were quite the sight to see rushing around the dock for cover with 8 kids!

*When the storm finally calmed, my mom took this cute picture of my and my little "Flash."

*Caleb is my little "Water Rat." He wanted to be in the water most of the time. It was fun for all of the kids to up off the boat into the warm 78 degree water.

*Thank goodness Aunt Heidi brought fun things for the kids to do. She is always thinking of fun things for the kids to do. It was a nice break for the parents who were tired of hearing that the kids were bored.

*Waiting for the campfire to start for smores!

*All of the kids had fun playing with this water dragon.

*Games, games, and more games!

*Going on boat rides at Lake Powell are always an adventure especially when the kids can get out and explore. We thought this would be a fun picture.

*There are always a lot of yummy things to eat. Caleb loved the all-you-can-eat candy cupboard. Only at Lake Powell!

*As you know, Caleb can't go anywhere without his trains. Thanks Grandma for remembering to bring them!

*Here are all 8 of the kids in the water together with Uncle John. They love being together!

*On Sunday we had a special sacrament service on the boat. This has been something we have done on Sunday's at Lake Powell since I was young. My dad gets special permission from his bishop to do this. It always makes the trip special when we observe the Sabbath Day.

*Danny and Skyler came prepared with their white shirts and ties to perform the sacrament. They set a great example for the little kids. After the sacrament we watched "The Testaments" and just hung out the rest of the day in the boat.

*All 5 of the kids on the front row were born during a 6 month period to 4 out of 5 of my sisters. It was fun to have all of them born so close to each other.

*While out on a boat ride, I took this funny video of the kids, and dads, dancing.

*Here is my mom, Tiffany, me, and Jodi. Heidi hadn't arrived at Lake Powell yet to be in this picture. Aren't the rocks behind us cool? This picture is priceless!

*Boat rides wore out my little Caleb. Here he is asleep on the floor of the ski boat.

*
Here are Caleb and Kysa. They have fun together!

*The jet ski's were a hit with Caleb! He constantly wanted me, or anyone, to take him for a ride. When we got home last night, he cried to me saying, "I want to go back to Lake Powell and ride Grandpa's jet ski's." My heart just melted when he said that. How sweet!

*Here are all of the girls on our last day. I love my mom and my sisters so much! We always get along and look forward to the times when we can be together. There is nothing like having all girls in my family because I have 4 best friends!

*After being gone for one week, this was who I couldn't wait to see. Izzy's eyes lit up when she saw us. I missed her so much! I'm so glad that she was home safe with Brandon. I missed him so much too. It's nice to be back together with my little family.

Thanks mom and dad for the fun trip! We can't wait until next year!
Goodbye Lake Powell!

Oh that looks like so much fun. Caleb seemed to love it. I think I would have been nervous with Izzy as well. She looks like a little girl now- Where is that cute baby I use to watch in primary.

Oh, I love POWELL! I believe that is the funniest place to vacation at. It is gorgeous and the water is warm enough that the kids dont mind getting in.

Amy- I love reading your blog but can I make a request please. NO LAKE POWELL pictures. Man did I get depressed seeing these. I miss going down there so much. I loved the summers down at the lake. Ahh those were good times. Well now that you have made me depressed... looks like you had a great time. Wish I could have joined ya =)

How fun! You got some great pictures! I bet it was hard leaving Izzy but sometimes it's so nice to have time one on one time with the older one or ones in my case. I guess we're not having the family party this summer so if we don't see you before then I guess we'll see you at the Christmas one.

You've been tagged!! Check out my blog for the rules. Have fun!!

Yeah I agree, potty training is tough. Funny you asked when we are coming back. We just got home. I will come by and say hello. Right now the house is a mess because we just pile everything in the hallway. Talk to ya soon.
